Nivedita Rao

Photographer, Film Editor, and Writer in Bengaluru, India

I think I've always known I was interested in a more niche field related to Media (both online & offline), than something dealing with Science or Commerce. Which is why I decided to study Communication Studies, as it was more practical based and dealt with various streams, which ultimately led me to anchoring, editing and scripting my own radio segment; making my own short film, documentary and song; writing poetry and a novel (still in progress); and writing thesis papers related to various subjects like Contemporary India, Media Studies, Cultural Studies, Psychology and English Literature.

I believe it is important to not only know the literature behind these fields but also, gain some real experience working in them, which is why I have tried to complete as many internships as I could, in these 3 years of college. I have worked as a Corporate Trainer, Internal Communications Associate and Consultant, Reporter, Research Assistant, Content Writer, Photographer, Video & Sound Editor, and Videographer.

After finishing my course on Social Media Marketing and Planning, I would really like to get into this field, as I have a real knack for it. I believe it's important to love what you do, to get the best outcome at work, and that's something I would bring with me, apart from sincerity, creativity and dedication.

On a more formal note, I am a resourceful individual with strong technical skills, coupled with the desire to learn and efficient interpersonal skills; I am looking to secure a position in a media organization, where I can bring immediate and strategic value and develop my current skill-sets further.
