Surviving a

Hurricanes hit the news early, the country is notified, and they begin to prepare for the worst. Students hear news of papers and projects they will have to write; preparations are made and outlines are designed. Just like a family that makes it last to the store to pick up gallons of water, boxed food, and countless wooden panels, I fail to create an outline, draft ideas, and construct a meaningful thesis statement. The water and food is thrown into the pantry and immediately the windows are boarded up in a sloppy manner. I realize it's time to throw something together with the due date approaching - an intro paragraph is tossed into Word, the thesis statement barely makes sense, and forget an outline. The hurricane hits hard; damages are done. Everything turns out okay; somehow the family isn’t affected and all is intact. The due date is tomorrow and what's on paper is sub par. The whole thing is highlighted and the delete button is pressed. Back to stage one. The paper is written this time, taken seriously because there is no way to avoid it. But in the end, like the hurricane, things turn out okay and I make it through.
