I have been Working in Customer facing Retail environments for my whole working career, either that be working at a well-known fast food establishment or lifeguarding at a local pool, or volunteering at various local events behind a till.
I'm the type of person who gets stuck in and gets involved, whatever level I'm at; Supervisor or project manager.
Currently I'm working at Boots Opticians for 3 years as an Optical Consultant and serve a wide range of customers
Making sure that the customer leaves happy and returns with trust and confident for the Boots brand and the colleagues that I work with.
The role as an Optical Consultant, as I see it, is:
- Providing pre-screening duties before the main eye check (pre-screening is the part where you, as a customer undergoes a series of foundation checks to help the optometrists diagnose you with an eye prescription)
- Providing the customer with help and assistance with choosing and purchasing a pair of spectacles to suit their individual needs and tastes.
- Providing general admin tasks such as informing customers that their glasses and/or contact lenses are ready for collection, adjusting glasses and providing sound optical knowledge.
Whilst Studying Events and Tourism at University of East Anglia, I project managed different events and exhibitions
For many clients such as the Student Union, Safechild charity, East Anglia University and Assisted in Events for Ipswich Borough Council for the all their summer 2011 events, including volunteering for the Ipswich Half Marathon in September.
