Data Specialist in Agincourt, South Africa

I am currently a Data Specialist at the MRC/Wits Agincourt Research Unit, where I apply my expertise in data management, programming, and analytics to support cutting-edge research. My journey in programming began during my Bachelor of Science in Computing at the University of Limpopo, and I have since earned an Honours degree in Computing from the University of South Africa.

My technical proficiency spans multiple programming languages, including C#, VB, and Python, with a focus on univariate analysis. I am skilled in creating dynamic online dashboards using Google Looker Studio and have extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server for database management. My experience includes optimizing and developing programs, generating reports using SQL, and automating data workflows with Python, including integration with Google Sheets.

In addition to my technical skills, I am deeply involved in data harmonization and profiling, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of complex datasets. I also take pride in mentoring interns, providing guidance on data management practices, and fostering effective communication with a range of stakeholders. To stay at the forefront of the field, I have pursued courses in Data Science, with a particular interest in machine learning.

As I look to the future, my career goal is to transition into Data Science, where I can further explore the potential of machine learning and predictive analytics.
