Music has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was five years old, my parents enrolled me in piano lessons. Since I was young, I progressed slowly, but I was able to learn the basics of notes, hand placement, and simple songs. At the start of middle school, I decided to join the orchestra and play the violin.
My foundation in piano really helped me when learning to play the violin. Even though the actual instruments are very different, my knowledge of reading music, scales, and rhythm helped me pick up the violin more quickly. From the start, I really enjoyed learning a new instrument. I liked learning with my classmates in orchestra and it was also cool to see the different instruments and parts come together to make songs.
As the years passed, I also liked having new challenges as I advanced to harder pieces. Learning music taught me about the importance of practice and patience. Even when I encountered difficult passages and challenges, I learned to try different approaches and keep trying until I succeed. Overall, my journey in music has taught me a lot and has helped shape me into the person that I am today.
