Noah Iliinsky
Designer in Seattle, Washington
I’m a Lead/Staff/Principal level Information & visualization designer, UX architect, and author/speaker. I design processes, systems, and platforms that help people explore and communicate information more effectively. I deconstruct complex problem spaces in a systematic way, and then represent the problem and solutions in structured formats. This allows people to understand and solve the problems efficiently and confidently.
Institutions that have used my services and designs include: ADP, Amazon Web Services, Barclay’s Wealth, Boeing, The CIA, Corbis, The Gates Foundation, IBM, Microsoft, O’Reilly Media, User Interface Engineering, UW, and VMware/EMC.
Things that make me happy:
• Good problems to solve: I crave ongoing intellectual challenge.
• Impact & benefit: I like to build things that are helpful and educational.
• An environment that supports excellent performance: I enjoy empowered teams, enthusiastic collaboration, and structured mentoring and career development.
Things I’m good at include:
• Information design, data visualization, diagramming
• Information architecture
• UX design, interaction design
• User-centered everything
• Breaking down complex problems or workflows or concepts, including root-cause analysis, and then reassembling them in structured ways
• Helping people or teams do the above by asking the right questions
• Communicating complex topics in a clear and efficient way
• Mentoring and leadership
Things you probably shouldn’t hire me for:
• Graphic design, colors, typography, branding
• High-fidelity work
• Schedule management
• Statistics (I used to know stats…)
• Writing code
