I love music.

Actually, music is involved every aspect of my life. Perhaps I am married to music.

The trumpet, piano, and computer are mediums through which I am able to create music. Jovial or dismal, classical or hip-hop, complex or simple, creating music drives my creative processes. I can find influences for my own music through the things I see and the sounds I hear. Of course, nothing I ever create will ever compare to the creations of Schumann, Bach, or Tchaikovsky, but I enjoy creating my own type of music..

My passion for music allows me to listen to all genres of music. I will never be able to listen to every song in existence, but each song I listen to has a unique composition that I attempt to understand. I listen for the patterns the composer, artist, or musical engineer used to layer each section of his song and learn how I can create my own style.

Lyrics are just as important as musical composition, especially since I'm a rapper.

Well, I rapped once. My first song that I published was a hit among my class in high school, but I never really continued my career in hip-hop. I think about picking it back up from time to time, but with other rappers in the game such as Logic, Eminem, and MGK, I won't ever compete. It's a fun hobby, but a rap career isn't in my future.

I wanted to be a professional musician for a long time, but later I realized that failure could mean ending up as a music teacher. As much as I love music, I enjoy learning about it more than teaching. I don't believe my skills are on par with those of the professional trumpet players found in any major orchestra.

I will continue to possess a desire to create, listen to, and understand music for the rest of my life, if for nothing else other than my own personal enjoyment and satisfaction.
