Among the most noteworthy projects that Mr. Khalil has been involved in is the Columbia Tower, which received the Project of the Year Award in 2008. Originally the Martin Luther King Village Apartments, the redevelopment of the complex represented unique challenges. “One of the things that was not immediately apparent…is that many...residents were also special needs people who had a drug or alcohol abuse problem,” according to Noel Khalil. To help meet the needs of the residents, Columbia entered into a partnership with Georgia Rehabilitation Outreach, Inc. The renovations have resulted in an attractive, boutique-like building with a fitness room, a library, and a completely upgraded roof and HVAC and water heating systems. Noel Khalil earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Rochester in New York and a J.D. from The Florida State University. In his spare time, Mr. Khalil enjoys power walking, reading, watching foreign films, and traveling.
