Noella Duncan
My husband Paul and I live on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. We have a passion for travelling and have adopted the motto "Life is not a dress rehearsal". We are semi-retired and our children have left the nest so we are making an effort to see and do as much as we can. We love to explore different places, try different foods and learn about different cultures. Our adventures have led us to Europe, Africa, Vietnam, Thailand, Central America and various cities in the U.S. Last year we volunteered in Malawi, Africa for several months and I had my first taste of writing a blog. As is with many first timers, I initially started the blog so our family and friends could follow our adventures. Over 4000 viewers and 85 countries later, I seemed to have developed a following. This only added fuel to my passion to write more. I also have a passion for photography and while I am still at the novice stage, I enjoy snapping at anything that moves (or doesn't move for that matter). We try and combine our travelling with helping others as well, thus the volunteer work last year. We have been blessed and believe that we should share whatever we can with others, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. To bring a smile to an orphaned child by simply holding them in your arms or giving a homeless man some clean clothes brings joy and meaning to our lives.
Hopefully my blog will encourage people to spread their wings and explore beyond their back yards. Sometimes you may end up with a little "gravel in your shoe", but that's OK. Just shake it out and continue your journey.
You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough. ~Mae West~
