The Pentateuch
The Pentateuch is the first five books of the Bible. "The books that belong to Torah or the Law (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) contain the earliest records of human history and the earliest history of Israel." (Varughese, 2003). These first five books are said to be written by Moses, but these books do not directly list him as the author.
The Pentateuch, starting with Genesis, give us the detailed account of the creation of the universe and mankind. Now, some may need evidence and the Bible is fully supplied with documented proof. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." (Genesis 1:1-2. The Bible states in 2Timothy 3:16-17 NIV, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." This in sense, let us know all of God's Word is from God and is the truth. “The Bible is the most reliable and authentic record of God’s self-disclosure to humanity (revelation).” (Varughese, 2003, pg. 21). In Genesis, we follow the entire creation process as God created all things for His purpose.
