Nolan Habegger
Home Wine Maker, Writer, and Entrepreneur in The Woodlands, Texas
Who is Nolan Habegger?
I'm a normal, down-to-earth person just like you with a passion for promoting the home wine making process and encouraging others to join in the fun. I started making wine at home in 2008, beginning with one gallon of Gwertztraminer made from canned concentrate purchased at a local home brew store. Tasting the fruit of my labors hooked me, and I quickly became an evangelist for the concept of home wine making.
Since that time, I've successfully created hundreds of gallons of wine from kits, focusing primarily on dry reds, which are my favorites to drink. I've also produced several batches of mead. Along the way, I've experienced my fair share of failures and less than perfect end products, but have always learned from my experience.
I've been married to my best friend and fellow wine drinker since 1990. We live in The Woodlands, Texas, a planned community just north of Houston. We are the parents of four children; two boys and two girls, all of whom are graduated from homeschooling and are pursuing their own passions. Professionally, I have more than 25 years experience teaching and communicating technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
What is My Mission?
I've made it my mission to turn wine lovers into wine makers. I believe anyone who appreciates wine and enjoys drinking it should be able to produce a delicious, cost-effective wine at home. I get a great deal of satisfaction out of making wine and sharing it with my family and friends, and I want you to experience the same sense of fulfillment. I believe sharing my knowledge, experience, and passion with others is one small way I can make the world a better place for us all.
Wine making is a simple process. If you can follow a recipe, keep a goldfish alive, or feed and water a house plant, you can make wine.
What I Have to Offer
As an experienced home wine maker, I believe I can create an environment where anyone interested in the process can gain access to the information and other resources they need to achieve their goals. With that objective in mind, I spend my time and energy producing videos, product reviews and recommendations, and learning resources which empower aspiring home wine makers and make them successful.
