Evangelos Nomikos is a Research Associate at the Chemical Processes and Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) of the Centre for Research and Development – Hellas (CERTH), supporting applied research and innovation initiatives with a focus on energy, sustainability, and regional transition.

In parallel, he contributes to regional ecosystem building and innovation delivery through multiple roles: Scientific Associate at Europe Direct Western Macedonia, Business Development & Innovation Manager at the Co-Working Space Western Macedonia, and Technology Transfer & Innovation Manager at the Business Incubator Western Macedonia. His work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship support, stakeholder engagement, and translating knowledge into practical market-oriented outcomes for SMEs, startups, and local communities.

He has been actively involved in the Greek startup landscape, participating in teams that won major entrepreneurship competitions, including the University of Macedonia’s Employment and Career Structure (UOM), the Alexander Innovation Zone (Thessaloniki Innovation Zone), and the John and Mary Pappajohn competition of the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT). He has also built hands-on experience as a business developer at Yade (e-commerce startup recognized by the Peter Thiel Foundation) and as a co-founder of Turnand, a company developing smart peripherals for mobile devices. For more than four years, he served as Head of Marketing & Business Development at mediaview publishing, contributing to content and media initiatives in Northern Greece.

Evangelos holds a B.Sc. in Economics (University of Macedonia) - M.Sc. in Law & Economics (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). He is also a volunteer European Climate Pact Ambassador, supporting climate awareness and citizen engagement actions across Europe.
