Economist and Project Manager
Evangelos Nomikos is currently working as a Scientific Associate at the Chemical Processes and Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) of the Centre for Research and Technology - Hellas (CERTH), one of the most distinguished research organization in Greece with its branch in Ptolemaida. At the same time, he is Head of Innovation Products and Services at i4G SA, the first private start-up incubator in Greece based in Thessaloniki.
He has played an active role in the Greek startup scene. He has been part of the team that won major entrepreneurship competitions such as the University of Macedonia's Employment and Career Structure (UOM) where he was also a researcher, the Alexander Innovation Zone (Thessaloniki Innovation Zone), and the John and Mary Pappajohn competition of the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT). He gained valuable experience as a business developer of Yade, a startup operating in the e-commerce sector that received significant recognition from the Peter Thiel Foundation. At the same time, he was one of the founders of Turnand, a company that creates smart peripherals for smart mobile devices. For more than 4 years he was Head of Marketing and Business Development at mediaview publishing (biscotto thessaloniki, biscotto.gr, mycampus.gr, on board stores), a pioneer in content production in Northern Greece.
He graduated from the University of Macedonia (UOM) with a degree in Economics and holds an MSc in Law & Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) Department of Law. He is currently completing his pedagogical qualification from the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE).
