Nontando Sophie Mgedeza

My name is Nontando Mgedeza I am a young innovative teacher who specializes in geography, natural sciences and physical education, who is from Soweto, Dobsonville which is a diverse township. I hold a Bachelor of Education Degree in FET and Senior phase granted by the University of Johannesburg, and I currently wish to further my studies in geography. I aim to be an agent of social change in learner's lives. My main objective is to produce future leaders of tomorrow and make learners see that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it, and that education can be productive and worthwhile. I also aim to make the best of every lesson I teach by relating the content to their experience, because I know how it feels like being taught about things you have never seen or had any form of contact with. I will promote pro-active learning and provide a caring safe environment for learners because some of the learners only get that experience at school, where everyone is entitled to their own opinion without being discriminated against. Above was a professional perspective of who I am, but I am a person that follows fashion and likes looking pretty whenever I can, I enjoy outdoors activities, I also value relations and I believe in music, so music makes a huge part of me because it reaches my heart, my soul and mind. I also believe in gaining knowledge because “knowledge is power” so to keep myself informed I read books and follow current affairs. I also have background experience in retail with an experience of 1 year and call center experience of 6 months . I have certificates in Microsoft education, computer development program and artificial intelligence provided by the university of Johannesburg.
