Nora Demleitner
Nora Demleitner is a prominent international scholar of law who currently serves as the Roy L. Steinheimer Jr. Professor of Law at Washington andLee University School of Law. Before this position she had spent three years as the dean of the school-- a position that had been well-informed and supported by over two decades of diverse and groundbreaking legal experience.
Always a researcher and writer at heart, Nora has contributed to numerous law reviews and is an editorial board member of the Federal Sentencing Reporter. She was also a lead author of Sentencing Law and Policy, a casebook focused on her niche of sentencing and collateral sentencing sequences.
In addition to these specificities, Nora has a particular interest in immigration law, and her research has allowed her to explore it globally. She has been a visiting professor at institutes in Germany and Italy, along with schools across the U.S. She was a Fulbright awardee and in 2002 she took on the complex fields of foreign and international criminal law in Germany. In 2015 she received a Senior Research Study Visit Grant from Germany as well.
Nora continues to grow her experience in comparative law and sentencing, while also emphasizing the importance and increased accessibility of legal education for others.
