Norah Dooley

Norah Dooley, educator, author and storyteller performs in schools, libraries and teacher conferences and specializes in teaching people of all ages how important their stories are. In 2013 Norah was featured as an Exchange Place featured storyteller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough , TN, the Newport Folk Festival and several Cambridge Revels. Norah is on the roster of Young Audiences at yamass.org.

Norah is an adjunct professor at Tufts and Lesley Universities. In fall 2014, Norah was the Distinguished Visiting Scholar, in storytelling, at Suffolk University. She lectured teachers of English and grad students on the role of storytelling on language acquisition in Tokyo, Japan as part of a multi-year grant funded by the Japanese government in 2011 and 2014. Norah has an MEd in Creative Arts and Learning and has been a full time classroom teacher and an instructor in visual and performing arts in elementary and middle schools. Norah was a co-founder of massmouth.org the local 501c3 that promotes the art of storytelling. As project director and creator of StoriesLive®, she launched the one-of-a-kind high school storytelling project. In the past 5 years, Norah helped teach over 7,000 Greater Boston students to tell effective personal narratives.
