Lenz Gschwendtner

Wellington, New Zealand

I'm a geek living at the edge of the world and happen to be in one way or the other connected to the internet since the early 90's. This probably makes me a neo vet or something ... not sure. I know social networks from the days they were called Bulletin Boards and mail was was exchanged once a day via modem to the big scary internet exchange. I do internet stuff since then.

I'm a web mechanic since the early days and do internet related stuff for a living. Some of you might have seen me as your internet guy back in the 90's in Voralberg which happens to be a nice spot in the very western part of Austria.
Some of you might know me as the CTO of united-domains - a domain registrar located in Starnberg, Germany.
Some of you might know me as the guy hanging out at every geek event in Wellington, New Zealand where I live since 2007.

I am one of the crazy guys who started yet another domain registrar as if there would not be thousands of them already. That registrar is called iWantMyName and is my main venture in the moment.

I am a mentor at Startup Weekends, a mentor at Lightning Labs, the accelerator program run in Wellington and involved in many user groups. I am a open source geek and love supporting the local community.
