Translator/Interpreter and Japanese language tutor.

BA in English literature, MA in Linguistics (Pragmatics) and PostDip in Natural Language Processing (Linguistics, Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence).

Born and bred in Kobe, Japan. Life kicked me out of Kobe, but nothing will take Kobe out of me. Genuine and proud Kobekko, if you know what I mean: been through the 1995 earthquake, seen death of thousands of Kobe people before eyes, we stand firm on this merciless earth and life.

I have published Dictionary of English Colloquial Expression (co-author, 2009) from Sanseido and a translation of Dr Hall's History of Orkney Literature (co-translator, 2014) in Japanese.

For beginners and children, I teach music theory and piano.

I love learning foreign languages (currently working on 14 languages), collecting fossils/stones and discovering hidden history from streets.

A passionate recorder and piano player. (Member of Scottish Recorder Orchestra and British Society of Recorder Players). I listen to any kinds of music from every corner of the world from medieval to current top charts! Basically epicurean: good food, drink and music, this trinity never fails to make me happy.
