training: formally - engineer

naturally - artist and explorer

I am a Mechanical Engineer by training, while art and thought also guide me. I appreciate science and the logical process of solving a problem, while I also greatly enjoy creative tasks. I design, create, test, break, re-design things to find the best solution. I started when I was young - I took apart my parents' VCR several times and successfully put it back together, in working order. This exploration led me to engineering; the act of learning how to solve problems with design.

life outlook: thoughtful, open, detailed

Engineering and philosophy are like a hardcover book and a booksleeve - they belong together. I see the connection between both intellectual subjects, which most people overlook or simply ignore. I find connections in details - how things work and how they come together. I appreciate thoughtful conversations or no conversation at all. I'd rather let paint, or a pen create a conversation of color or written text. That's the artist and writer in me.

work experience: solar

I've been working in the solar industry for 7+ years now, and want to make a difference. I've worked for public companies, dabbled with start-ups, and now have the opportunity to be a consultant for several expanding companies.

interests:

I enjoy sharing knowledge with others, whether it be about engineering, art, science, photography, snowboarding, random facts, or story-telling. I take photos of nature, people, places, and objects that tell stories. I create art. I write stories. I like the outdoors, to an extent.
