In 2009, new bachelor's degree in-hand, I left my career in the auto industry and went in search of something better, something more stable and exciting, but likely less financially rewarding. All I've found so far is less money. A lot less. Seems the world is pretty harsh in the Great Lakes Rust Belt. Tough to find work, tough to start a business. Where are those GOP job creators when you need 'em?!

Struggles for fulltime work aside, life is good! I've had several accomplishments in my part time occupation as a high school and travel softball coach that I hope will turn into other coaching or athletic administrative opportunities. In the meantime, my new full time gig is in the gaming industry where the lights, bells and whistles of a casino place your senses in a world of make believe and endless hope of big reward.

I love coaching. It gives me the opportunity to teach kids skills that can they can use to be better students, athletes and long term, better human beings. Follow my blog on Word Press to read commentary about life with my family, my pain as a sports fan, politics, and the sometimes crazy world we live in.

Enjoy!
