I'm a litigation lawyer, former college professor and blogger, currently living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I solve disputes for individuals, small businesses, and organizations.
My areas of expertise are civil and criminal litigation, employment law, human rights, tax litigation, and commercial litigation. I also have extensive experience in international business law and international arbitrations, having worked as an in-house lawyer in the media, technology, telecommunications, and government sectors. To date, I have saved clients over $13 million in resolving tax disputes.
I have served as Senior Crown Counsel and acting Solicitor-General for the Government Bermuda, during which time I successfully litigated a variety of complex cases in human rights, employment law, tax law, commercial disputes, and constitutional law, for the Government of Bermuda. Prior to that I managed my own litigation firm in Toronto. I've also been a professor of Employment Law, Human Rights, Labour Relations, Canadian Business Law and International Businesss Law.
Usually I can solve your dispute through negotiation or mediation but if that is not possible, then I am a seasoned trial lawyer who takes no prisoners in the courtroom. Judges have described my litigation style as "skillful and persuasive", "take no prisoners" and "a very skillful cross-examiner".
When I'm not doing legal stuff, I enjoy cooking, travel, singing (in the key of Frank), playing blues harmonica and ukelele, cycling, swimming, the arts, and chess.

With a fixed fee, you know exactly how much your case is going to cost you. I also offer contingency fees on employment cases, which means, you don't pay me any fee unless I am successful in resolving your case.
