A highly educated clinical psychologist with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Norman Goldwasser holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and public health from Johns Hopkins University, and a master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology, as well as a masters degree in industrial organizational psychology from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was a magna cum laude graduate.
Dr. Goldwasser began his career in 1982 as a staff psychologist and rabbi at Beth Sholom Home of Virginia and later worked at St. John's Hospital, Central State Hospital, and South Florida State Hospital before joining Horizon Psychological Services in Florida as executive director in 1992. He continues to serve in this capacity, leading a multidisciplinary work practice that includes multiple therapists, clinical psychologists, and a psychiatrist.
In his work, Dr, Goldwasser specializes in helping patients overcome issues relating to trauma, anxiety disorders, anger and stress management, personality disorders and addictions. He has also provided education consultation to schools across the country, including the Seattle Hebrew Academy, Yeshiva Day School of Las Vegas, Rudlin Torah Academy if Richmond, and in South Florida, Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy, Hillel Academy of Boca Raton, Hillel Community Day School, Yeshiva Elementary School and Yeshivas Toras Chaim.
Throughout his career, Dr. Norman Goldwasser has accumulated numerous professional awards and accolades, including being awarded as Guest of Honor at the Chai Lifeline Dinner, the Educational Leadership Award from Yeshiva Elementary, Guest of Honor for Congregation Ohr Chaim, Honor Society of the National Conference of Synagogue Youth, and Founders Award at the Collegiate Learning Exchange of the University of Miami. He was also named Top Psychologist in Miami Beach by the International Association of Health Care Professionals in 2015.
