Norma Walton
Real Estate and Entrepreneur in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
As the founder and CEO of Rocket Property Ltd., a boutique private equity real estate investment company, Norma Walton (Norma Jean Walton) converts underperforming real estate in Ontario into its best possible use.
Launched earlier this year, Rocket Property acquires properties in the Greater Toronto Area with the goal of generating exceptional returns on investment “We specialize in identifying, acquiring, repositioning and developing undervalued or underutilized properties that others may overlook or may not have the expertise or the patience to develop,” Rocket Property's website explains.
Rocket Property reviews potential acquisitions carefully, using specific investment criteria, including currentproperty value, current and potentialproperty usage, overall investment risk, anticipated return on capital and other factors. Walton determines what is required to realize the upside potential of the target property.
The Rocket staff is comprised of a team of entrepreneurs and real estate investors, which includes Norma Walton, Matthias Ohm, Chairman of the Board, Marisa De Luca, VP of Marketing, and director John Rawlings, as well as international investor partners.
Norma Walton graduated from Western University in London, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in French, as well as a JD in law and an MBA in business. She gained more than fifteen years of experience in the real estate industry before launching Rocket Property.
In addition to taking the reins at Rocket Property, Norma Walton serves as an asset manager for Blue Parrot Properties Ltd., a real estate asset management company also based in Toronto, Canada. For Norma, it’s about identifying properties that have potential and then overseeing the project to turn that potential into reality.
Norma made the strategic decision to invest specifically in real estate in the GreaterToronto Area due to Toronto’s position as the fourth largest city in North America and given that it actsas a global centre for business, finance, arts and culture.
When she is not working, Norma Walton – who is also a full-time mom of four youngchildren in addition to being a real estate entrepreneur – can be found running after her little ones or attempting to regain past glory playing basketball or volleyball.
