I grew up on a family farm in Morris, Manitoba and have been in the Ag industry for 35 years. I have lived in and worked across Canada, as well as the UK and Hungary. I’m passionate about the business of agriculture, my family, and helping others.

I have had global responsibilities with an Ag Science company over a 34 year period in everything from R&D to Sales, Marketing, Business Development. My last role was leading a North American strategic marketing team. I took an executive MBA while working full time, and loved comparing Agriculture and non-Ag businesses. I enjoy the diversity of working across the entire value chain, from talking with growers across the hood of a pick-up, to retailers/distributors, processors, all types of suppliers, authorities and associations, and researchers both public and private.

I now focus my time on MetIQ, offering professional consulting to help businesses explore new opportunities using a value-added approach. My coaching style is personable, offering expertise on change management, project management, team building and performance optimization.

Colleagues tell me I’m energetic, creative, a problem solver, and a strong people person, able to lead them positively through change.

A few things I’m proud of:

  • Building new teams, successful in launching products against well established leaders
  • Repairing challenged teams, struggling from weak leadership and process
  • Those I’ve coached who are doing great in their careers, many in senior roles
  • Growing business including a portfolio of $460 million
  • My family, including my wife of 30 years, and our children who are well travelled and appreciative of other cultures
