I am the stay-at-home mother of three amazing young men. They, and my husband, keep me very busy each day. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am working on living with it instead of against it.
The Spoon Theory explains how people living with chronic pain, illness, have a finite amount of energy each day. Normal daily activities deplete the energy reserve, and rest replenishes it. Since sleep problems and insomnia are common with fibromyalgia this results in extreme fatigue, or being out of spoons.
What I'm trying to learn to deal with is recognizing that some things are "not worth a spoon", especially stress and anxiety since those take a very high toll on my reserve of spoons. My blog at NotWorthASpoon.wordpress.com is about my journey trying to learn how to live with fibromyalgia.

"Do you know how many spoons people waste everyday? I don’t have room for wasted time, or wasted “spoons” and I chose to spend this time with you.”
