Jacques Yves Cousteau once said:
"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever."
Since i have seen the sea for the frst time - i knew, that it was going to be a love, that lasts a lifetime.
In a big break that i took after finishing my cadetship, i was still involved with the sea - just in a different way.
In 2002 I have started my own diving center (Nemo Divers, Portoroz), where i have been involved with pretty much everything. From instructing new students to cleaning wet and messy bathroom, loads of boat handling and to doing all sorts of accounting. I never realised, that this was just a prep for my future.
After 7 years of doing that, i have decided its time to go back to sea... I have passed my orals and went back to sea as a 3rd officer on a big, 200m long bulk carrier.
Since big, dirty bulkers didn't really feel like something i want to do for the rest of my life, i have started looking and quite fast got my first officer job on a mega yacht - the job that i am still holding on to for almost 2 years :-)
I got used to all of the habits and learned my job quite fast - and now i know that this is what i always wanted to do...
I am still not there, but i know, that one day i will get all the necessary knowledge and certificates to be a captain on such a boat.
