Nozinhle Khumalo
Engineering Student, Sportsperson, and Public Speaker in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
Nozinhle Khumalo is an Electronic Engineering student with a passion for the education and empowerment of women from disadvantaged backgrounds. She believes in challenging the status quo in order to facilitate positive change. Her experience in both debate and public speaking has groomed her into the advocate for gender equality that she is today.
Nozinhle is an avid sportsperson and has participated in several regional tournaments as a part of the Senior Women's Volleybal National team. She believes that sport is a unifying tool that can be used to bring people together for worthy causes. She also believes in the innovative potential of Africa and that its naturally available resources can be used to develop the continent both socially and economically. This has led to her interest in Green Energy technologies and her final year project was centered around using the 'Internet of Things' concept to realize efficient energy use for households with limited energy supply from Off-Grid photo-voltaic systems. Nozinhle dreams of venturing more into the field of Renewable Energy and engineering practical and sustainable energy projects for the developing African continent.
