I taught myself Perl and took the American Medical News online in 1999 at no cost to the AMA (where I then worked on the newspaper), creating a platform that served well into 2013. Now I'm helping Illinois nonprofits and social justice orgs with their websites, online presence and communications infrastructure. I also study spiders at the Field Museum.
