Ntokozo Mazibuko

Hey there, I’m Ntokozo Mazibuko. I’m a volunteer and a Co-Founder of Newcastle Youth Empowerment initiative currently residing in Brixton. I am a fan of education, soccer, and volunteering. I’m also interested in sports and arts. I have started in initiative in my hometown which is aimed at empowering the youth of Newcastle. It has been always my dream to be an agent of change within my community and change the status qou. My philosophy as a teacher is that education should be free despite the individual's background. ‘’It takes a village to raise a child'' is an ideal I hold dearly, in an educational sense however. Through collaboration more knowledge can descend to lower levels where it is needed the most, and that in turn will help those at the lower levels ascend. The continuation of this cycle, I believe, can change the world hence why I am part of the initiative I mentioned above.

I used own a small scale business during my high school days. I used a backroom at home to raise and sell chickens, and I would use the profit to pay for my school fees at that time. However, I had to neglect the business when I came to varsity but I plan to return to it someday, hopefully it will be bigger.

During my holidays, I tutor grade 11&12 leaners the following subjects: History, Tourism and IsiZulu. I am a football player currently playing in the internal football league at University of Johannesburg. One day I aspire to become a soccer coach, so I can go back to my community to restore passion and love for soccer as most kids are deeply involved in drugs due to not having anything to do. I am currently undertaking a coaching license. I am a chess player, who has participated in eight competitions only won two of them. I am a former player of Orlando Pirates Development Under 21.
