My name is Lihle Ntola, currently doing my third year in Bachelor of Education for FET in Physical Sciences and Life Sciences in the University of Johannesburg. I am an individual who is more interested in being involved in leadership positions in my residence, Maqhawe Men’s Residence, inside the University of Johannesburg APK campus. In my first year in 2022 I was part of the first years’ committee then in second year, 2023, I was part of the mentorship team of the residence at which we assist the first years with adapting o the new university life and in whatever that they might need help with. This year I am currently a Residence Academic Advisor for the Faculty of Education in the residence. I assist and advice students doing their first, second and third year of study with their academic related problems and personal challenges. I really enjoy being involved in these leadership positions as I also gain leadership skills which I can use in my career.
I like remaining professional in professional settings but I am also someone who likes to engage with others and have motivating conversations. I am also a member of the Sibongiseni Mdawe Foundation, which I joined lately in May.
I chose the qualification I am currently doing because since high school I always enjoyed assisting my peers with their studies and that made me fall in love with the career of being an educator. I would also like to help in shaping the future of the young and teachers play a major role in doing that. I will also use the skills I am currently getting from being an RAA this year.
