Ntula Baraka Simwinga
Consultant, Project Manager, and Psychologist in Zambia
Ntula Simwinga is a seasoned healthcare professional with over a decade of impactful experience in HIV prevention and care initiatives, focused on vulnerable populations such as adolescent girls, young women, LGBTQI individuals, and female sex workers. With expertise in strategic planning, program management, advocacy, and partnership development, Ntula has successfully led and implemented community-driven health programs in challenging contexts. He served as Clinical Advisor for the University of Maryland Global Health Initiative, where he contributed to data-driven treatment strategies and supported high-risk population health programs. Subsequently, Ntula spearheaded the grounding of a project for four prestigious American Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) — Howard University, Meharry Medical College, Morehouse University, and Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science — as Deputy Country Program Coordinator in Zambia. He later transitioned to become the Country Director for Charles R. Drew University, overseeing services that reached over 60,000 adolescent girls and young women across the Copperbelt and Lusaka in collaboration with the Government of Zambia's Ministry of Health. His career highlights include fostering partnerships and leading advocacy efforts, scaling community health interventions, enhancing stakeholder capacity, and delivering innovative health solutions. Ntula’s core competencies include designing tailored health programs, fostering multi-sector collaborations, mentoring cross-functional teams, influencing policy, and resolving challenges in high-stakes environments.
