Hiram Ring is a PhD student in Linguistics from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. His interest in medical technology and particularly human interface systems has been fueled by growing up in rural Africa and taking pre-med biology classes during university in the USA while volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician (first responder). He continues using technology in his research, traveling to India regularly to document and describe an unwritten language of Meghalaya.
