Nuno Marques is a Professor at FCT/UNL and principal investigator at CITI. He is also regularly cooperating with ISEGI and FCSH both form UNL. His working areas focus in Artificial Neural Networks and Text and Data Mining.

Nuno Marques PhD thesis was pioneering in the introduction of Text Mining for the Portuguese language. Currently, Nuno Marques' work combines Machine Learning in Artificial Neural Networks and its application to real world problems. Since 2009, he has been developing Text and Data Mining concepts to apply to Financial Data Streams. Nuno Marques is also involved in several research projects bringing together the university and private companies, and in particular, he is responsible for the research protocol between between DI-FCT/UNL and GoBusiness Finance. As a GoBusiness consultant, he is the principal researcher and responsible for all the work in Financial Data Mining, namely for the applications of Artificial Neural Networks for the SLMR (Stop Loss - Maximum Return) investment strategy.
