Nunzio DeFilippis

Nunzio DeFilippis was born in New York, grew up in New York, loves New York, and lives in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of USC's screenwriting program and after graduation wrote several feature films that no one will ever see, including one that was purchased by a production company that went out of business mere weeks later.

After that, he started writing with Christina Weir, who he subsequently married. He has taught screenwriting at the New York Film Academy’s Los Angeles Campus, and recently became chair of their Screenwriting Department.

Nunzio and Christina have worked in television, on and off, for the last ten years. They were on the writing staff of HBOs ARLISS for two seasons, and have worked on Disney's KIM POSSIBLE. They have sold a TV movie to Oxygen, and have two comic book properties in development as TV series.

In comics, they have written SKINWALKER, THREE STRIKES, MARIA'S WEDDING, THE TOMB, FRENEMY OF THE STATE and PLAY BALL for Oni Press, and spent 3 years in the world of Marvel's mutants writing NEW MUTANTS, HELLIONS and NEW X-MEN. They have also written for WONDER WOMAN, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL and CHECKMATE. They can proudly boast of having written all three of DC’s “Big Three” (Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman) which probably means more to a comic geek like Nunzio than it does to most people.

In the world of manga, they have created AMAZING AGENT LUNA, AMAZING AGENT JENNIFER (a Luna spinoff), DRACULA EVERLASTING and DESTINY'S HAND and have adapted several Japanese series for Del Rey. They also created a weekly manga called NINJA DIARIES for the Los Angeles newspaper Metromix.

Their first video game project wound up in production hell and may never see the light of day. But, hey, they got paid! The game featured a major Hollywood action star, though NDAs prevent them from boasting about who it was.

Currently, Nunzio and Christina are hard at work on the final volume of AMAZING AGENT LUNA. LOST & FOUND, the third in the THE AMY DEVLIN MYSTERIES series of graphic novels, is in bookstores now, and
