I am an independent journalist. I’ve been freelancing since 2011, after a 10-year career with The Telegraph and The Economic Times. I write on politics and culture issues pertaining to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal. My bylines have appeared in The Diplomat, The New York Times (India Ink blog), Washington Post, Huffington Post, Bangkok Post, Yahoo!Originals, Express Tribune (Pakistan), Himal Southasian, World Politics Review, Asia Times Online, Asies (a French magazine that has now gone kaput), Forbes India, Mint Lounge, Fountain Ink and The Hindu, among others.
I was a Reuters Fellow at University of Oxford from January to July 2013, International Journalists’ Programme fellow to Germany in 2010 and Rotary Group Study Exchange fellow to Brazil in 2010.
I volunteer as a secretary of the Federation for Economic Rehabilitation of Rural Youth (http://www.ferrybengal.org), an NGO that imparts vocational training to the unemployed young people in villages.
