Faisal Mahmud Nurul Momen

Faisal Mahmud Nurul Momen is a journalist, editor, educator, and recently, filmmaker of Bangladesh. He pioneered the online news in Bangladesh, in the Bengali language and by enlarge, in south Asia. Currently he is busy making a full-length narrative feature fiction film named, "William Shakespeare". This bilingual movie has already become much appreciated the world over even before it's completion.His dedication & keenness for his works is evident from the fact that,although he is a bushy haired young man,he shaved off half of his head for the sake of best quality.

Dr.Momen was born in this historic mansion pictured above,the1st gatehouse of DU,on a misty night of 25th Nov.This is a historic building from where erupted the language movement of Bangladesh.Later it was designated as official residence/office of Proctor of Dhaka Univ.At the time of Mahmud's birth his father was the popular&revered Proctor of that university.

His father was Natyaguru Nurul Momen,the pioneer trailblazer,who ushered in the progressive literature, culture & theatre;to the then conservative & backward society.His mother was the popular social worker & philanthropist Amena Momen.

From his childhood he wrote for national dailies like Star, Observer,Times,Ittefaq&Dainik Bangla. He regularly took part in BTV & Betar since then.From childhood he earned many national & intn'l awards for his writing,acting, singing,elocution, recitation,debating,music, painting,journalistic&scientific talents.Throughout the academic career his results were excellent.He participated in internatn'l TV news &Press while abroad.

He began his journalistic career as assist Magazine &Showbiz editor at Bangladesh Times.He then served as the Assoc Editor of"Newsday".He was English newscaster on BTV for a long time.He also worked for intn'l TV.After acquiring the highest degree(PhD) from Ann Arbour,he joined the faculty there as an Asst Professor.After being promoted & serving for sometime as an Assoc Professor,he felt the need to serve his country & returned to Bangladesh.He established there the first online news of Bangladesh,Bangla2000. He was Editor-in-Chief there.He is a published author.Throughout his journalistic career he achieved many accolades.

Right now,he has written& is directing a unique movie of the world,WilliamShakespeare.Because of it's fascinating concept,this movie has gained huge international anticipation even from it's preproduction stage.
