I am a mother to two girls.

Currently I am a freelance consultant on Public Finance & Media and Editor in Chief at the Maldives Financial Review.

I have been a Political and Economics specialist at the Embassy of the United States of America for the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Starting as a Statistical Officer Trainee in 1999 through to being appointed Deputy Minister in 2010, I worked at various levels within the Ministry of Finance and Treasury for over 12 years.

While Deputy Minister I oversaw the;
◦ National Budget Section
◦ Revenue Policy Section and
◦ Economic Policy Planning Section.

During my time at the ministry I was also;
◦ Deputy Director General (2009 - 2010)
◦ Assistant Director General (2007 - 2009)
◦ Assistant Director (2006 - 2007) at the Economic Policy Planning Section
◦ Assistant Director (2005 - 2006) — working within the External Resources Management Division
◦ Assistant Undersecretary (2002 - 2004) — working at Financial Institutions and External Debt Management

I have trained with the IMF (Regional Training Institute,🇸🇬), the ADB (🇵🇭), Commonwealth Business Council & the World Bank (🇬🇾) and the Capital Market Development Authority (🇲🇻) with specialised training on;

◦ Macroeconomic Management and Fiscal Policy
◦ Sovereign Debt
◦ Financial Programming and Policies
and more.

I have represented the Ministry of Finance and Treasury as;
◦ Member of the Board, Maldives Pension Administration Office (2009 - 2010)
◦ Member of the Board, Tender Evaluation Board, Ministry of Finance and Treasury (2003/04 & 2005/08)
◦ Director, Board of Directors, Bank of Maldives Plc (2005 - 2009)

I have a;
◦ Master of Business Administration with a specialisation in Strategy, minoring in Finance & Entrepreneurship (QUT,🇦🇺) and
◦ Bachelor of Business, with a Banking and Finance specialisation (Monash University,🇦🇺).
