ALEXANDER EKOW NYANKSON
International Businessman
Having started his own enterprise in the fashion industry at an early age, Alex participated in several Exhibitions at the Ghana Trade Fair Center amidst other exhibitions. He worked for Win Art Batik Creations as Production Assistant and later pioneered Lexis Batik Creations which grew until it was selling the wares through Novica.com. He is a Senior Artist with novica.com an E-commerce Company with its Africa branch in Ghana. His art works have been sold around the Globe through novica.com.
In September 2011, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) hosted an event and his batik wall hangings was presented to Queen Rania of Jordan, Princess Christina of Spain and Dr. Mary Robinson from Ireland.
Along the line he took up different challenges alongside his fashion business and worked as Stock Controller and later Quality Control Supervisor for the Mitsui Group of Companies (Madson Dept.) from where he acquired vast experience in time-bound delivery and quality management.
He joined World Express International Limited in 2006 as Duty Manager based at the Departure Hall of the Kotoka International Airport in Accra and his skills made the company employ him further to assist different departments that had structural challenges. He assisted the Export department, the Import department, the Delivery department after which he became the Country Manager for World Express in Ghana, overseeing the entire operation countrywide.
Through his dynamism, he started off operations of Carter Global Ltd, which had been registered but had not started operations and led the company to acquire the much-coveted International Courier License issued by the Postal and Courier Regulatory Commission in Ghana, an operations office at Airport, storage office at the Courier Dome for handling imports and exports of Courier Packages, equipment and vehicles to begin full operations of Carter Global. Carter Global currently has its offices in Ghana (Accra & Kumasi), United Kingdom, USA and South Africa.
Today, Alex is the President of Carter Global Ltd, Ghana and the Chief Operating Officer for Global Operations and is responsible for the strategic and tactical management of the company. He recently represented the company in the 3rdIATA e-Cargo Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland between the 24th and 26th of June 2014.
