Prior to my current incarnation as a full-time university student living in New York (yes, I still pinch myself every morning), for almost 30 years I was a secondary English, History and Religious Education teacher.

I have four very grown-up daughters and four beautiful grandchildren. I am currently on leave, thanks to the UN and a hard-working husband, but I would dearly love to change career path. I hope my experiences this year will allow me to take that jump, perhaps even into the world of journalism.

Before embarking on my current study at Deakin, I also completed study in Science, Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology, and a Masters in History. I love travelling, cooking, good books, good coffee, good wine and people watching.

My interests, academically and personally, are diverse, but I've always been fascinated and enthralled by a good story. It seems, even in the digital age, there is the need for journalists to continue to provide the basics, no matter what the platform. So, hopefully, that's where I'm heading!
