Oded David 'O.D' Kobo
Internet entrepreneur and businessman.
Kobo's business interests have ranged from Internet to private equity to property, with nearly $1 billion in exits.
Born in Hong Kong, raised in New York and London, Kobo founded several China-based technology investment companies – namely KGIM, SinoSheen and Koolanoo Group. KGIM partnered with the Prime Minister of Qatar and Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU) before it was acquired for $120 million in 2010 by East River Capital (a subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority). Kobo was also a Shareholder and Director at UK property group Camden Market Holdings (LON: MKT) which sold in 2014 for $680 million.
In 2014, Kobo sold Pheed - a mobile pay-per-view technology to Carlos Slim and América Móvil (NYSE: AMX) for $40 million.
In 2015, Kobo founded Shellanoo Group, a technology venture builder based in Israel, partnered with businessman Roman Abramovich and Gee Roberson (partner at Maverick Management, former Chairman of Geffen Records).
Kobo is also a Partner at PIR Equities, an alternative asset management firm based in Hong Kong.
