Oakley Minto

Hiya! I'm @hiuranai but you can call me Oakley (or Oak for short!), I made this to give new followers or anyone in general a good idea of my account because a lot of people DM account with questions/queries or just wanting to talk so I thought this blog thingy would be a good idea.

Right now I'm seventeen and live in he North West of the UK - I'm in college and I'm studying Theatre Studies, Music, English Literature and Philosophy which I'm enjoying very much! I have such a passion for drama and being on stage which is why cosplay really intrigued me? Dressing up as characters? Pretending to me them? What could he more fun? ╥﹏╥

As a child I was always into the usual online fanbases; Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, MLP e.t.c. Obviously I've passed many of these phases but it gave me a nice introduction to the online community. (I still love pokemon + loz tho, lmao)

Then I stumbled upon the webcomic homestuck which took over my life for a long fucking time but also introduced me to cosplay and even though I don't actively enjoy homestuck anymore it'll still have a place in my heart for introducing me to this God awful hobby: cosplaying.

So my first cosplay was Lil Cal, that's right that stupid fucking puppet👏👏

It was in May 2015 and that's where it all began.

From then I've been progressing, wasting all my fucking money, on cosplay👌👌

The cosplay community is sometimes an awful place but I've got closer friends with people originally at my side and made new friends not just across the UK but in other countries and I think it's honestly amazing? And how my biggest idols back when I started cosplaying are now my bestfriends, and it's insane? It shows how much things change, tbh❤

I would add some of my friends here but I have so many that it would take forever and I'm worried I'll miss someone out because they lit mean the world to me.

NOW:

Currently I spend most of my time making music, in shows and playing overwatch which has low key taken over my life.

But I also enjoy some shows like Haikyuu and Hunter x hunter and love live and Dangan Ronpa? I haven't really been that into anime at the moment but I still love every character and show; I don't have that much time to watch the shows I love anymore, rip.
