Olivia Beals
Hey there. My name is Olivia and I love pictures—taking them, being in them, looking at them—it doesn’t matter. Seriously, the world would be so strange and my room would be so bare if pictures were not a thing. But it’s not just the flat, glossy 4x6 on its own that I’m in love with. It has nothing to do with the technicality or resolution of a picture, but everything to do with who or what the picture is of. I am in love with the idea that a simple picture can evoke so much feeling. It’s a cliché I know, but pictures hold on to memories, feelings, and times in our lives that sometimes we as people try to forget, whether that be for the good or bad. From the time I was about nine until now, I’ve gone through quite a few cameras of varying quality. Two years ago, I finally purchased a DSLR, specifically the Nikon D7000. Since that moment the game had changed. Creating a quality image became a much higher priority for me, but what I was capturing remained unchanged. Moments of love and laughter between family and friends will always remain my steadfast obsession.
