Medical laboratory scientist, Public Health Practitioner, and Global Volunteer in Jos North, Nigeria
Hey, I'm Odinaka, a global volunteer and a leader. I am fan of public health, research and advocacy and medical laboratory sciences. I am also interested in democracy, governance, policy making, journalism, youth and community development.
Odinaka is a Medical Laboratory Scientist and a Public Health Practitioner with interest in Health Communications. He is a certified human capacity development trainer and has participated in the training of over 10,000 youths and teenagers across three states in Nigeria. He is currently a youth and leadership mentor with Kayani Project under the FORSA project in Lebanon and has received various trainings and certifications in national transformation, inclusive leadership, elections and civic responsibilities amongst others.
He is a Class 2019 fellow of the Millennium Fellowship, a project of the Millennium Campus Network and the United Nations Academic Impact. He is also the National Project Coordinator of the Block Malaria Project.
Block Malaria Project is a national malaria intervention initiative, this community and public health development project is geared towards enhancing the level of sensitization on malaria which is one of the most endemic diseases affecting Sub-Saharan Africa, this time with the 36 states of Nigeria in focus.
The project currently runsin 6 states in Nigeria where we target low-income communities having sanitation as a big issue and high malaria cases.
Odinaka is the founder and lead trainer at Impact Training Room, a leading online human capacity development platform focused on equipping the next generation of leaders with cutting-edge leadership and transformational skills for nation building. He is also an OAP with Ice 96.1fm Unijos as well as a lead volunteer with Journalism Communication and Media Centre (JCMCentre).
He is a recipient of the prestigious Ambassador of Medical Laboratory sciences Award by AMLSN Plateau and also the Good Ambassador of Medical Laboratory Sciences Award by YMLSF Nigeria. He has received numerous other awards notable is an award of excellence by NAFECMLSS National, Community service award by Jenta Central Youth Council and the distinguished Male Social Worker of the year award by Youth Art Initiative Nigeria.
When he is not in the laboratory carrying out research or a diagnostic procedure, you will find him volunteering, teaching or probably listen to him on radio discussing pertinent issues. He enjoys hiking, reading, teaching, traveling and cooking.
