Daniel was born and raised in El Centro California a place where today the unemployment rate is horribly over 20% but left the Imperial Valley to reach a higher education and Business Administration in 1997 becuase he knew that he was Made for More. In February 2007 Daniel's life change drastically with the loss of his father United States Vietnam veteran Daniel Ochoa, Sr in February 2007. At this time, Daniel understood the importance of maintaining his father's legacy and founded a non-profit by the name of the "Daniel Ochoa, Sr. Foundation". The goal of the foundation was to provide education and advocacy to US veterans and their families. At first, Daniel focused largely on services available to service member's children and by networking both locally and nationally. Daniel partnered with the sons of American Legion Post 25 in El Centro California and VFW Post 9305 to establish an annual toy drive benefitting veteran families. However, daniel again was struck with misfortune but that did not let him give up, his true Made for More attitude makes him succeed whether others may give up.
Daniel found himself homeless for six months following a divorce in 2009. ALthough he called El Centro home, he sought refuged at a homeless shelter in Calexico. It was a tough experience for Ochoa and he learned many lessons and one that he has always subscribed to has been to give back when life pushes back at you. Homeless himself he sought to assist others in the same situation and going as far as assisting assisting the homeless last year he was the head organizer of the 10th Annual project< Homeless Connect, an event where agencies come together to help the homeless population with the ultimate goal of ending their journey of homelessness. Daniel has worked tirelessly to attain a homeless shelter in EL Centro.
In 2014, Daniel was the lead organizer of the 10th Annual project homeless connect with the help of various agencies a project start out homeless population to provide support in an effort to end homelessness within the Imperial Valley.
