Octavio is a Mexican journalist/writer living in Colombia. He has been a correspondent and collaborator for Reforma newspaper, W Radio, The City Paper, Las 2 orillas and the literary magazine Letras Libres (letraslibres.com). In 2009, he published his first short stories book "Corte de cuentas" (Balance Sheet). A second one, "Ay amor, ya no me quieras tanto" (Hey darling, don't love me so much), was published in digital version in 2012 and as of 2016 is available as e-book. In the IV La Cueva National Prize of Short Stories (2014-15), his story “La tercera raíz” (The third root) was one of the 13 finalists among 1,300 contestants, and it became the backbone of his third book, La tercera raíz y otros cuentos (The third root and other stories), published as author’s edition in December 2016, and reprinted in extended version in 2017. El libro de los viejos oficios (The book of old trades) is his fourth book of short stories.

And the singing of sirens of literature, for his own delight, has not released him yet.
