MEET "ODANE GIBSON" THE C.E.O OF OGENT MUSIC
To 'Odane, a Jamaican native, music has and always will be, everything to him. And in order to be successful in the music industry, 'Odane started OGENT music as an outlet for his hard work and dedication. It all started on September 29, 1990, when 'Odane was born. He grew up seeing talented artists on television and was mesmerized by how the music was created and how it sounded to well put together. With this new found hobby, 'Odane asked his mother for an HP 550 laptop to begin practicing and recording. In the country of Jamaica, made a makeshift studio at the mango tree in his backyard and began recording his friends. Unfortunately, there were not a lot of musicians in his family so he had to turn to the talented artists in his community. When he would record, it would sound so clean on his computer but it didn't sound polished coming through his speakers. When 'Odane moved to America in his late teens, his dad introduced him to the software Protools. His first impression was that the software was too complicated. Then he asked himself, "Am I going to sit here and complain?", "or am I going to sit down and actually learn the software." The teen spent months researching and practicing traditional engineering methods with the software until local artists began to realize his talent. He then developed a demand for his product, his music. 'Odane Gibson is the epitome of hard work and determination. The kid spent months teaching himself one of the most coveted jobs, which would take someone else years of school to accomplish. 'Odane always says, "Whatever you want to do in the future, put your mind to it and you will make it."
