I started in the Interior Design industry about 6 ½ years ago working at Waterworks, a high-end plumbing and tile showroom. About a year 1 ½ in to working there I decided to go back to school. My manager suggested I take an intro class in interior design as a way to further me knowledge to better help my clients. I took the class, and 1 ½ later I graduated with a degree in Interior Design.
The week following graduation, I started working full time as a project & design assistant for a general contractor. I believe I learned more in the 3 year I worked there then I would have learned after 3 more years of school. After my first year I was designing, coordinating, scheduling, starting, and running kitchen and bath remodeling projects. I like to think of this experience as my own personal boot camp. It was hard work and long days, but worth every lesson.
Now I find myself at IKB Stone, where I am putting everything I learned from school and my experience in to practice.
