Colourz

Canada

Colourz is a Canadian duo, composed of Taylin Simmonds and Jared Waldroff, which pushes the limits of progressive house by blending cinematic orchestration with electronic music resulting in their unique genre: cinematica. Colourz seeks to go on an adventure with their music, and they want to take their listeners for the chromatic ride.

Growing up in the small city of Grande Prairie, in Alberta, they realized early on that their desires for something bigger lied beyond the limitations of their hometown. The duo relocated to Kelowna, British Columbia, where they graduated from the Center for Arts and Technology digital arts school in music production and business. They went on to win “Community Pick” for a World Wide Beatport Remix contest in 2014. Their quest for expanding the music spectrum means mixing inspiration from diverse tones. From epic soundtrack Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer to electronic powerhouses Porter Robinson, Flume, Deadmau5, and Daft Punk, Colourz wants to bring more colour to everyday life and succeed in doing so with their eclectic musical palette.

The cinematica pair has partnered with indie record label, Blue Label Records, in order to debut as a live act in parallel to their forthcoming release Selcouth as part of a big summer they have planned.
