If you are like me you will love old music gear, especially valve amplifiers. Some might say milestone manufacturers such as Leak, Quad, Thorens, Garrard, Shure, SME, and so forth, who made an effect on the progress of Hi Fi (does anyone call it these days?).

When our dad had a big collection of 78s my thoughts of valve amplifiers and file systems go back to pre-33rpm;. I recall he'd an electric record player (very posh!) and by its side lived a tiny field. In this field lived needles these were carefully changed every history. Father held a pad by the record player and everytime it was played he would make a on the pad!

With the introduction of LPs in to our home, the equipment to perform them also changed. First, father bought an HMV device amplifier/radiogram - of course but before a long time he changed this for individual stereo items.

I am very proud still your can purchase the Leak 30 Plus Amplifier. I also still have the original packaging and brochure which came with it! The style of instruction inside it is like returning years!

Dad (as fathers do!) gave me his cast-offs when he updated, so I continued to make use of his Leak material for-a period of time like the fantastic Leak Sandwich 600 Speakers boy did they sound good? Regrettably I dont have the speakers anymore.

Over the years some of my friends bought Quad valve amplifiers which at the time were way out of my selection! But it did plant the seeds of interest, and around a decade ago I was luckily enough to acquire an un-molested set of Quad 11 valve amplifiers & Quad 22 get a grip on device. A number of people in the 80s thought it good to Switch them a little of advice if you would like a couple of Quads, do not buy anything but unmodified stuff. To get another way of interpreting this, you can check-out: free leak detection. The others have already been destroyed.

Last year I bought a couple of Quad ESL-57 electrostatic speakers from EBay un
