Ruth Chan

Ruth Chan began her career as an illustrator at the age of seven, when she had a whole summer to fill with paintings and drawings of sloths and rocketships (many of which she sold to her poor unsuspecting parents). Since then, she has earned a degree in photography and child psychology, and another in arts in education-- degrees that, if anything, have sharpened her doodling skills. While she isn't strolling through her Brooklyn neighborhood obsessing over brownstones with her dog, Feta, she is at the YMCA working hard to bring free, quality out-of-school-time programming to kids and teens. Ruth has found sloths no less endearing, and thinks you should too.
