Ever since my journey began in noncommercial educational broadcasting, my commitment to reaching all Americans—particularly Latino and Spanish-speaking communities—has only grown. As a 16-year-old boy, public media showed me a world far from my East Houston roots and transformed my life. I believe in our collective power to do that for everyone. On October 15, 2021, I launched OIGO, a newsletter specifically created to foster dialogue and action around diverse audiences and public media.
